(Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles)
Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) is a valuable co-product of the ethanol production process, widely used as a high-protein ingredient in animal feed.
In rice-based ethanol production, DDGS is derived from the spent grains left after ethanol extraction. These grains are dried and processed to remove excess moisture, resulting in a dry, nutrient-rich material with a long shelf life.
DDGS typically contains 25–30% protein, along with significant amounts of fiber, fat, and minerals. It is commonly used in feed formulations for poultry, swine, and cattle, offering a digestible and high-quality protein source that supports healthy growth and muscle development.
